Allison week 2

I have never blogged before so this is new to me, but not for long. Interestingly enough recently I was asked to make a blog for my school last week too. So, I will be well versed in blogging before I know it. On to the task...
I work in a school specifically geared to helping dyslexic students learn strategies and tools (along with the regular school day academics) that will assist them in their school years. Although I am the art teacher, their disabilities filter into the art room. I am continuously strategizing and modifying my methods to fit the needs of each student. I have over many years experienced the change in attitude of self worth in hundreds of students. So this undeniable feeling that art is SO significant in those students lives leads me to choosing it as the overarching idea of my thesis project. I am struggling to find the right narrowed down version. Last night I came up with an idea ( with the help of Michelle Tillander, thank you Michelle!) of doing a project based on the children explaining how they advocate for their own struggles of dyslexia through a claymation projects. The art of making the project combined with exploring what they need to know and tell others about it. So, thats my though of the moment.. Hummmm..
